Dr. Sarah Z
I have been a nurse since 1998 and have worked in multiple fields including neurology, obstetrics, hospice, and emergency medicine. The most inspiring moments of my career included volunteer work at The Hole in The Wall Gang Camp, and on the schooner Harvey Gamage with Barefoot Workshops, where I also worked as a nurse. I realized in these moments that I needed to stretch the way I thought about medicine to encompass the entire life and spirit of the patient. I began to understand that true healing includes more than just prescription drugs and machines - it is laughter, quality moments, understanding the body's wisdom, providing nutrients and safe environments, removing obstacles to healing, looking to the planet's gifts, and embracing the individuality of each person. I graduated as a Naturopathic Physician in 2011 and started Bodhi Naturopathic. I have worked as adjunct clinical faculty at the University of Bridgeport in the Naturopathic program, and enjoyed the teaching experience immensely. In the spring of 2021, I completed a Master of Science in Nursing.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, I enjoy helping people achieve wellness, as well as the awe that I consistently experience in the process. When not at the office, I enjoy gardening, exercising, putting my feet in the sand at the beach, and spending many wonderful moments with my friends and family.
